Ford Mustang II Monroe Handler
The Mustang II Monroe Handler
The Ford Mustang II Monroe Handler was released in 1977 as part of a showcase car by Monroe Shocks and Hot Rod Magazine.
It was designed and built to show off the Monroe Handler shocks and had seem significant upgrades to the car – including a 363 Cubic Inch Roush tuned engine, modified Suspension and was putting out 400HP!
The original Monroe Handler had a steel body, however Creative Car Craft produced six further body kits in fibreglass which were given away as prizes in a competition with many large name sponsors (Monroe, BF Goodrich, Roush, Motorola, Revell, Centreline and of course Ford).
Apparently a 7th car was rumoured to be made for an American Politician.
Creative Car Craft also produced around another 30 as 8 piece body kits which were sold for $1250 dollar each which included front and rear fenders, an air dam, rear spoiler and rear body panel.
Classic Auto Reproductions are also now supplying a modern replacement for these kits for modern day Mustang II owners to make their own Monroe Handler.
